In 2001, Kevin Harvick was slated to run a few, select NASCAR Cup Series® races for Richard Childress Racing while battling for that season’s NASCAR Xfinity Series® championship. America Online, a popular internet service, was to sponsor that part-time effort for Harvick. Unfortunate circumstances altered that plan early in the season as Harvick took the reins of the No. 29 car for the remainder of the season and the plans for him to run the AOL car faded away.
During Harvick’s final NASCAR® season in 2023, the legendary driver is teaming up with Sunny Delight – now known as SUNNYD – for his final throwback race at Darlington Raceway with a special paint scheme based on the AOL scheme he was to run back in 2001. The early-2000s era Sunny Delight logos and color schemes, including the brand’s famous advertising line, “Not the purple stuff,” will take center stage on Harvick’s No. 4 Ford Mustang during the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR® in May.
Now the official Lionel Racing die-cast of this throwback Harvick car is available to order. Built on the Next Gen Ford Mustang tool, each 1:24-scale replica is available in two different trim levels – an Action Racing Collectables (ARC) hood-open model as well as a fully die-cast ELITE version that is built with an opening hood and trunk. The ELITE also features a chassis plate that can be removed to reveal a detailed undercarriage. Each die-cast replica also features realistic touches like retro Goodyear tires, a driver-side window net, hand-placed decals, and more. A 1:64-scale model is also on offer.
This unique Harvick die-cast will be produced as part of a limited run, so don’t delay. Place your order now!
